Blake filmed these machine whipping sequences the better part of twenty years ago – at a time when they, and the spanking scene itself, were both very different. They weren’t easy films to make. Blake spoke at the time about their feelings of nervousness and overwhelm around the whole procedure, and their insecurities about the final content.
One of the highlights of the experience, though, was the breast whipping that finally gets its Dreams of Spanking debut today. “I love breast punishment”, they wrote afterwards. “Love it rather too much to do it professionally, a lot of the time, unless I’m working with people who don’t mind turning a blind eye while I squirm…It was humiliating, but also really hot.”
Understanding that tension definitely adds something to the experience of watching this film. A porn set is fundamentally a professional environment; the performers are playing to the camera, putting on a show. Sometimes, though, that show isn’t so much “I need to act horny even though actually I’m at work”. Sometimes it’s “I need to stay professional even though I’m incredibly turned on right now and oh god everyone in the crew can tell, can’t they”.
Blake is restrained, exposed and trying to hold onto their composure while the machine does its work – and knowing just how much they were enjoying their predicament makes every crack in that composure much more fun to watch.
