Ron Beastly lives up to his name this week, because in our latest film he plays an actual wild beast – growling, furry, dangerous and almost impossible to tame.
This scene is a pretty rare thing – a kink that's almost totally new to me. But the more I think about it, and google around beast porn and beast sex play, the more of it I find.
Beast porn has a pretty long and colourful history, and when you start looking you'll find it in a fair few places. From Marian Engel's famous 1976 novel 'Bear' (in which a librarian falls in love with, and is ravished by, an actual bear) to tamer modern hints, like the sexy werewolves in the Twilight books. I know it's not really on to mention Twilight, but I'm throwing it in there because it's surprising just how often particular kinks bubble up in our popular culture.
In fact, when you start looking for it, there's plenty of beast porn on the internet, but most of the fantasies are either animated or slashfic (there's plenty of Beauty and the Beast porn written by eager online writers, for example) – it's rare to be able to watch a beast fantasy played out on screen by real people.
Ron makes a perfect beast – partly because, with his furry body draped in more furs, and chained up in a sleeping pose, he looks every inch the slumbering creature. But more so because beast play is one of Ron's own fantasies. He suggested the idea for this scene, and so it's his own desires that are played out – giving him the chance to be the beast that he fantasises about.
As Seani Love tries to tame him, he's whipped, collared, and led around the room on all fours. He's even fed strips of meat from a bowl, as his master alternates the food treats with whippings in an attempt to make the beast behave.

Next we did a scene that was a suggestion from me, in which I was a beast that was captured by a magician who wanted to harness my power to use to his own ends. I really got into the performance, though it got pretty intense for me, partly because it was very physical and partly because there were a couple of moments where it felt very real. I realised that, while it was fun to let the beast out of me, I really don’t want to be doing scenes where they are punished and subdued. I would really like to do a scene that was a kind of sequel to this, where the magician’s wife/daughter/whatever finds me tied up, cowering and subdued, then unties me and encourages me to be wild and to ravage her in a rather exciting and filthy manner (if anyone wants to shoot this let me know!). I was a little bit shaken afterwards, but the after care was awesome, with Pandora giving me a marvelous happy spank then feeding me carrot sticks and hummus while I was curled up on her lap (do all directors provide this service?).

Ron's proposed follow-up, in which the beast is released from submission, and encouraged to ravish the kindly person who's released him, brings the fantasy neatly back round to the focus of much of the slashfic and other beast porn that I found in my research. Beast fantasy seems, for the most part, to eroticise the wild, untameable nature of the beast. The darker things that can be done by creatures that have no moral agency, no code, and which are essentially untameable.
I like the fact that this scene is a bit ambiguous as to whether the magician succeeds in taming the beast. He can whip and punch the creature into submission, put on a collar and lead and to all intents and purposes look like he's subdued it, but ultimately we can tell from Ron's growls and snarls that he's still a wild animal. Perhaps a wild animal just looking for a chance to let his instincts take over again...
If there's one thing I know about studying witchcraft and wizardry it's that you should never ever piss off the potions master. Ron Beastly lands himself in hot water in our latest film, along with fellow student Nimue Allen, when the pair experiment with a hair growth potion that gets a bit out of hand.
When Ron Beastly made his début on Dreams of Spanking, I couldn't help but compare him to his wizard namesake: ginger hair, a cheeky smile, and a certain kind of twinkle in his eye. So I'm delighted that Pandora and the team have put together a funny, playful spanking scene set in a school for trainee witches and wizards...
Pandora tells me that Ron was really keen to do a scene that played off his name, and what better time to release it than on Halloween?
In researching this blog post (because I am a consummate professional, even though my 'professional' work too often falls into the 'fun' category), I discovered that there's a fair market out there for Halloween porn. In an average month, Google registers around 12,000 monthly searches – from the UK and the US. That number skyrockets in October when everyone's getting into the 'spirit' of things (sorry – I'm crap at puns).
Whether those people are looking for Halloween porn that is playful and fun, or videos that combine terror and arousal to create a genuine porn horror story, I like the fact that people are hunting down unique and interesting scenes.
Rule 34 of the internet states that 'if you can think of it, someone has made porn about it.' Well, I can assure you that it works the other way around too: if you work on a porn site, you'll realise that no matter what you dream up, there are already people looking for it.
And I have to say, if you're looking for something unusual and imaginative, you can't beat a spanking from the potions master after a backfiring hair-growth potion now, can you?
I hope you all had a happy Halloween - and now that the dressing-up is over, why don't you spend some time with this playful scene of Ron Beastly and Nimue Allen getting a bare bottom spanking from potions professor Seani Love? Storytelling is sexy. Whether it's written, audio, or dramatised on screen, storytelling can make the difference between something that's hot while you're watching it, and something that stays with you for a long time afterwards.
When I write the blogs for Dreams of Spanking, it's always important to pick the right key phrases so that people can find scenes during search. Judicial caning, hand spanking, over the knee, etc – it means that everyone knows what they'll get if they click through, and also serves to get people horny. If you're anything like me then the phrase 'over the knee' probably conjures instant hot mental images, so if a scene involves that kind of punishment I'll make sure to be clear about it.
But the problem with this kind of directness is that there are lots of other more nuanced things that might be particularly erotic, but that aren't as instantly recognisable. Let's face it – lots of people search for 'six strokes of the cane' but fewer people search for 'depersonalised punishment' or 'endurance punishment'. That's where storytelling comes in.
Depersonalised punishment is a really interesting thing to explore – the idea that someone is receiving a beating because they have to rather than because they specifically deserve it. Rituals and ceremonies are both great vehicles for this: the punishment can be impersonal because it's not an individual need but part of a greater story.
Our new film, The Clone's Training, is sci-fi porn that fully explores this concept. Clone number eight – played by the gorgeous David Weston – is being drilled in the nuance and detail of the behaviour of his progenitor, the Crown Prince. Identical genetically, the clone and the Crown Prince are impossible to tell apart just by looking. Birthmarks and scars have all been faithfully reproduced, and the clone now needs to perfect his behaviour so he can infiltrate the royal family and 'become' the prince.
Instructor Pandora Blake gives firm and strict directions: stride purposefully, keep your chin up, hand behind your back. Every movement, in other words, must match the Prince's own gestures. And, of course, he must also be marked so that any blemish on his body matches exactly the ones on the Crown Prince.
A punch to the hip should replicate a bruise the Prince sustained, but to truly fool the medical scanners, clone number eight will have to have a six stroke judicial caning, just as the military Prince received only the day before...
You don't often see sci-fi porn, probably because most people associate it with either huge budgets or crap special effects. But there's a wealth of hot potential in science fiction, and you don't need CGI to make the concept work. Dystopic worlds in which individuals must behave a certain way. 1984-style future societies where citizens unquestioningly obey. And, of course, the deliciously sexy possibilities of armies of identical human-looking robots (I'm looking at you, Battlestar Galactica, with your sexy Cylons) and cloning technology.
This film plays on the clone scenario to dish out an incredibly clinical, depersonalised punishment. While many will watch this because they just love caning stories, others will be aroused by the impersonal nature of the punishment itself. The medical officer and instructor, played by Pandora, is concerned only with shaping clone number eight into as close a copy of the Prince as possible. As a consequence, when she strikes him with the cane it's not in anger or lust, but with a calculated necessity. And when he bends over to receive the strokes it's not because he feels he deserves them, it's because he is so used to obedience that it doesn't occur to him to question why he has to go through this. He just knows he must fulfil his destiny.
When you've watched The Clone's Training, if you're after more porn with amazing stories, it's well worth exploring Dreams of Spanking's 'sci-fi and fantasy' tag. The Royal Wedding is an audio story about a medieval princess, featuring an amazing public flogging which – again – is an impersonal ritual, but has more significance when told from the perspective of the princess who endures it. I also really like 'Psychic Weapon C' – another sci-fi porn story, but here the pain is used as a means to extract information. It's not quite as clinical, because the victim is actively fighting against the beating, but the fact that it's administered by henchmen makes it – in my opinion – an awesome example of pain being dished out as a matter of unflinching necessity.
So that's why storytelling is sexy – it's not just about a simple act, it's about the before and after, the build up and the tension. I could watch any scene in which a beautiful guy gets six of the best, and be delighted to have seen it, but the story turns it into something I think about for a long time. Not least because I can't help imagining exactly what happened to clones one through seven...
After our shoot with David Weston, Nimue and I headed across Bristol to meet with our next new male spankee - Ron Beastly. It was Ron who had recommended the fantastic studio we were using, as he lived nearby. We got together for dinner and a lovely evening of chatting and getting to know each other. It was clear the three of us had plenty of things in common beyond a mutual interest in making queer, ethical porn, and by the time we settled down for a good night's sleep I couldn't wait get started.
The day kicked off with two scenes for a new porn project Nimue and I are developing. This was our first shoot for the new site, which will be considerably more sexually explicit than Dreams of Spanking. Given Ron had previously done camming and escorting, he wanted to start with the hardcore scenes as being more in his comfort zone than the spanking scenes we had planned. Both scenes went well and were incredibly hot - if the rest of the shoots for the new project go as well then you are in for a real treat! I'll be posting more updates regarding this new hardcore site as things develop.
We also took some introductory photos of Ron for Dreams of Spanking, as we do with all new performers who have never done spanking porn before. He proved himself a natural flirt as he posed for the camera, and gradually revealed his body to show off his bare bottom until he was fully nude.

Our male top for the day, Seani Love, arrived and we got ready for the first spanking scene.
In addition to their ginger furriness (talk about a great casting for father and son!) Seani and Ron share an interest in the magical, mystical and sacred. We will be exploring various fantastical themes in our shoot tomorrow, including beast play, werewolves, witches and wizards. The scene I'm most looking forward to, however, is the one I know least about. Seani and Ron are both practitioners of dark tantra and conscious kink, and so I will be opening the floor to them for a conscious kink ritual. I have no idea what it will look like, but I'm excited. The first scene of the day evolved out of conversations with Seani and Ron, and was set in a certain school of witchcraft and wizardry. Ron's porn name, after all, is a play on Ron Weasley, and in this story Nimue played his swotty classmate who was too good at magic for her own good.
The potions master catches Ron sporting a large ginger beard, and upon questioning it transpires that he asked Nimue to cast a spell on him to help him grow facial hair! The spell backfired and Ron found himself with a huge ginger beard and covered in hair all over his body. The two are in big trouble for unauthorised use of magic, and their teacher wastes no time in giving them a firm ticking-off and bending them over the desk in his study for a spanking.
Both Ron and Seani were new to spanking roleplay, but this was a fun and lighthearted scene to warm up with. I also deliberately had Nimue get spanked first, partly to reassure Ron in real life that it wasn't going to be too terrible, and also to give him the chance to watch and see what would be expected of him.
Next I had wanted to cast Seani and Ron in a father/son scene for some over the knee hand spanking (I know how many of you are keen to see more embarrassing male/male OTK!). However, when we talked the scene through we realised that the guys felt too much like equals for the roleplay to feel convincing. Instead I cast them as brothers in a bratty domestic scene with plenty of arguing and talking back.
Ron is a student staying at his big brother's house during the summer, refusing to help out with the chores and spending all his time lazing around in his pants eating snacks and playing games on his phone. Seani lays down the law, but Ron is unimpressed by his brother's authoritative attitude - until Seani pulls him over the knee for a spanking with hand and slipper. This turned into a very entertaining scene, one of my favourites from the day, and really gave Ron the chance to let out his cheeky side!
Then it was time for lunch and a well-deserved break for Ron, who had done four videos already that morning! He really is a born performer, with boundless energy and enthusiasm in front of the camera. We filmed a video interview with Ron and Seani to give them a chance to introduce themselves and plug various projects they are working on, and then it was time for the afternoon - when we had some rather more unusual scenes lined up.
Drawing on Ron and Seani's love of the fantastical, Seani's experience as a kink professional helping men connect with masculine archetypes including the "Beast", and Ron's beast play fetish and self-defined identity as a furry creature, I'd written a scenario which combined all these elements. Seani played a magician who has captured a werewolf and intends to subdue it so he can use its power in a spell. The scene was very physical, with Seani using chains, a collar and lead, tone of voice, touch, punching and a singletail whip to tame the beast. Ron became very immersed in the role, snarling and growling and snapping at Seani. We even had bits of cured meat for Seani to feed the beast and use as rewards!
This scene had an incredible energy and was great fun to shoot, but very tiring, and afterwards as Ron came back into his body and his day-to-day identity he needed lots of cuddles and aftercare. I made sure he was well fed and snuggled up on the sofa to provide some much-needed strokes after being a poor mistreated beast. He even requested an out-of-character pleasure spanking from me, to help put him back into a good headspace. Well, it's a hard life, but someone's got to do it!
Finally, intrigued by the fact that both Seani and Ron are conscious kink practitioners, I gave them the floor to construct a ritual to do whatever they wanted. We talked long and hard beforehand about what to incorporate, and eventually the idea crystallised to have a ceremony honouring Ron and Seani's first professional porn shoot, integrating all the disparate elements of the day into a single scene. They centred the rite around the phrase "Solve et Coagula", which means to take apart and put back together.
This was a fascinating experience for me and Nimue behind the camera. I have been involved in rituals before and even led my own erotic magic rites as part of spanking scenes, but I had never tried to capture one on camera before. I wanted it to be as real as possible, without artifice, and I also wanted to try and break down the barrier between "performer" and "camera operator" and include all of us in the ritual space, both behind and in front of the camera.
So when Seani and Ron created the ritual container, they included me and Nimue, cameras in hand, inside the space. Cameras and camera operators were part of the rite. We broke the fourth wall and shamelessly got into each other's shots. The cameras - the fact of filming it - are part of this scene just as much as the performers. This also made it easier to get some intimate close-ups without worrying about catching each other in shot or "crossing the line". There was no line.
I had zero expectations or plans for this scene and gave the boys carte blanche to do whatever felt right to them. The resulting scene involved lots of tantric breath, impact play, ecstatic laughter and Ron begging to be hit harder, until he was flying on endorphins. That was the "breaking apart". Then Seani used rope to pull him back into his body and bring everything back together. Nimue and I held space while Seani tied him, and then we sat together with hands touching Ron, stroking him as he re-grounded and re-integrated. It was an amazing, intimate experience and a first for me as a director in many ways.
It is thrilling to continue expanding my horizons, taking the lead from the incredible performers I am so lucky to work with, and providing a space for them to express their kinks, their personalities and their sexualities on camera. Sometimes it leads to places I would never have expected, and that is so much more exciting for me than when everything follows the script I've written. I was humbled to work with Seani and Ron, and very grateful to them for putting so much creativity and energy into the shoot. I can't wait to share their scenes with the world!

Two young lovers find themselves caught in flagrante delicto by a master magician - and he isn't impressed. After thrashing his apprentice for failing to rein in his passions, Master Finlay informs Sophie that she has untrained magical ability, and must learn to control it or she will put herself and others in danger. He offers to take her on as his second apprentice. Sophie can't believe her good fortune - her old life was not worth clinging to, and she accepts the opportunity gladly, even though it means undergoing to a painful initiation ceremony.
I've always loved the idea of sacred or ceremonial kink; the use of blindfolds, restraints, whipping and flogging in magical ritual. There's something deliciously objectifying about being a ritual object or a sacrifice to the gods, body mortified to raise power for a higher cause.
On the other hand, blindfolds and flogging can play a part in an initiation ceremony or a rite of passage, where the focus of attention is very much on the celebrant - as with the ritual conducted to mark Sophie's initiation into the path of magical learning. Either way, this is about using pain and sensory deprivation to achieve an altered state of consciousness.
Now that she is officially subject to the magician's authority, Sophie must learn to control her passions and her powers. To teach her this lesson Master Finlay straps her bottom soundly with a razor strop of worn, thick leather.
But even the pain of Sophie's punishment - or the chores she is set afterwards - do not diminish her joy at finally finding a place where she belongs.
I first heard about the story called The Magician's Apprentice when Adele asked me how to create some arcane techno-babble which actually meant something for a new fiction piece she was working on. I have a few useful books on the subject, and was able to provide some names and references. At what point Pandora adopted the story for Dreams of Spanking I'm not entirely sure, but I've been looking forward to the publication of this one for quite some time.
Adele is an excellent writer, and the scenario she created gave us, as actors, plenty to work with. Our day with Daniel R had already included The Captain and the Tavern Wench, so we were well in the mood for high-camp costume drama. We were also looking forward to experimenting with stills to create some visual effects that would have been much more difficult on video. And as an added bonus, I got to play Mr. Sheridan, Court Magician to the Empire:
Apparently the Empire ran to large beards that season.
Setting up for this one was almost as much fun as actually shooting it. Quite a lot of the paraphernalia we dressed the set with is either mine or Pandora's, and digging out the Fifth Pentacle of Mercury from The Key of Solomon always provides a good laugh on a wet winter evening. The actual chalk-work was mostly done by Jimmy, who's a fine artist (which I am not) and can write in Arabic (which I can't). We had a whale of a time putting candles everywhere and drawing obscure rude (or geeky) jokes onto the chalkboards in the background.
It's extraordinary how going the extra mile in the set detail affected the atmosphere; what you might call the Weta Workshops effect. The room felt different. Dressing the set created a good deal of tension in itself, and I found it very easy to get into role, even without dialogue, when acting against those elaborate props and backdrop.
I'll try not to spoil too much of Adele's story, but suffice it to say that after the kissing shots, we halted for a protracted faff with candles, to the accompaniment of much giggling. And then, as if by magic...
... a hand-crafted special effect leads to the young couple's discovery by Mr. Sheridan.
The richness of both colour and texture in the "enlightening" shot really has turned out as well as we'd hoped; I'm impressed by how well Daniel caught the moment.
As well as being a pleasure to work with on a personal level, Daniel kept pace with our rather eclectic imaginations all through the shoot, and always seemed to be able to tune in to what we were looking for. The half gothic, half steam-punk feel of this photostory beautifully matches the texture of Adele's prose.
If memory serves, this was also the first scene ever in which Jimmy and I interacted directly, in a CP sense. Balancing a new scene dynamic with character acting can be difficult, particularly if you are already as well acquainted as Jimmy and me. But on this occasion, it presented no problems at all. The story had a pace and rhythm to it that made staying in role easy, despite the stop-motion logistics of shooting stills, and the CP itself did not seem at all strange within the compelling motivations of the narrative.
Also, it was just so pretty...
An enormous amount of fun was had, and you've only seen the half of it: the plot thickens for young Sophie soon enough once Giles has faced the Magician's wrath. I'm really pleased with the final results: luxuriant colours and cabbalistic symbols enough to brighten anyone's day. Watch this space for part two.
Our last update of 2012 was a medieval fantasy that I've nurtured for years and years. I've read a lot of fantasy novels in my time (of the "sword and sorcery" variety rather than the erotic kind, although ... that too) and of course I've combined my interests by imagining all sorts of punishments in fantasy settings. The genre rather lends itself to it, being usually set in a medieval sort of society where corporal punishment is common.
In this scenario, I play a tavern wench with a proud temperament who serves a captain who comes in to shelter from the rain. I think he's a mercenary captain, but he might be an officer in the Duke's army or possibly the city guard. I've seen his type often enough. I pour him his ale, and deflect his bawdy comments with sharp remarks, but when he demands I remove his boots I refuse. I'm not some camp follower any man can order about!
I manage to dodge his wandering hands until he grabs my wrist and pulls me onto his lap. He steals a kiss and a caress before I slip away, but he doesn't let me get far - he's decided I need to be punished for my disobedience. I struggle in vain as he hauls me over his sturdy lap, holds me in place with strong arms, and lifts my skirts. He spanks me like a child, and to my embarrassment he pulls down my drawers and continues to punish my bare flesh with his hard hand.
This was a genuinely hard spanking, and our photographer Daniel captured it magnificently as I yelped and struggled. I found it really difficult to stay in position, and eventually Tom hooked his leg over mine and held me in place as he continued to briskly redden my behind.
Spanked and red-cheeked, the tavern wench collects her dignity as the captain refreshes himself after the thirsty work of punishing her.
When he asks me again to remove his boots, I decide it's easiest to obey. He claims another kiss then, leaning down as I kneel still before him, and as he cradles my head gently in his strong hand and looks into my eyes I realise that maybe this captain isn't so bad looking after all.
"Will that be all, then?" I ask... and then realise it came out more rudely than I intended. He decides that my impertinence merits another lesson. This time, he bends me right over and uses a split tailed leather strap.
The burning strokes make my bottom dance and wriggle, but I'm determined not to shame myself by crying out. He growls at me to stay in position, or else he'll strip me naked and throw me over his horse to be paraded through the streets of the town. After that I try my hardest to stay still, although the tool is roughly cut along its edges, leaving raised welts that soon have my whole bottom aflame.
I know I can't do a thing about it, and if I go running to complain I'll just be laughed at - what power has a mere tavern wench to resist a captain? So I submit, and hope it'll be over soon.
When it is over, I am subdued. The captain draws me onto his lap for another embrace, and this time his kisses are more tender. I know I couldn't resist him physically if I tried, but I also find his strength attractive. If he desires my company for the evening, perhaps my other duties can wait after all...

My ambition has always been to make artistic spanking films, real little movies with involved storylines, believable characters and attractive videography. Of course in the real world budget constraints and inexperience set limits on what is achievable. However, I within those limits, I still indulge myself from time to time with more complex and creative films such as Psychic Interrogation, Primae Noctis and Liberated Ladies of the Jazz Age. But there is always room for improvement.
It's very rare that I get the chance to really go to town, and bring a fantasy fully to life, exactly as I imagined it. One such opportunity was our shoot with premiere kinky producer couple Hywel Phillips and Ariel Anderssen, the stunning blonde actress better known to the spanking world as Amelia Jane Rutherford.
Hywel has been making fetish movies for over ten years, and when it comes to photography and filmmaking he's both a passionate artist and highly technically skilled. When we did a shoot trade with his glamour bondage site Restrained Elegance last year, he was generously shared his kit and expertise in the scenes for Dreams of Spanking.
I'd written a shooting script listing the shots we needed, but hadn't done any storyboarding - Hywel decided camera angles and other details on the fly, effectively acting as director of photography. He also masterminded the lighting, and it was a real treat to work not only with high quality lights, but someone who really knows how to use them. We were filming with the same baby Canon I always use, but you only have to glance at the screengrabs to see the difference that decent lighting makes to the video quality.
This storyline goes right back to the roots of my kink: one of my earliest kinky memories, a night when I was 7 or 8. I couldn't sleep, and was coming downstairs for a glass of milk. My parents had the TV on and I could hear it as I came downstairs, then glimpse the screen through the open door.
It was a period drama of some kind: I saw a girl in petticoats, lying facedown on a bed, screaming in terror as a man stood behind her, furiously thrashing her with a cane. I paused halfway down the stairs, heart pounding, barely daring to breathe. Suddenly I couldn't face my parents: I turned around, and sneaked back upstairs. They never knew I was there, and I can't imagine they ever suspected what I'd seen and the lasting effect it had on me.

I remembered the title from an advert showing around the same time, which I recognised from the snippet I'd seen, but now I honestly can't tell if it's this program of that name, or this one. I've never heard anyone else mention this caning scene and I'm not sure if I dare risk finding out that it was all - or mostly - in my fevered imagination.)
The image stayed with me for many years, and it was always one of the things I planned to revisit if I ever started making videos of my own.
A Ghost Story brings that historical snippet into a sinister modern day storyline. Amelia is a model staying at a quaint old B&B the night before a photoshoot. But her beauty sleep is disturbed by horrible dreams of Victorian times, mistreated girls and ghostly goings on. What secrets does this spooky old building keep - and can it really be haunted?
This is an atmospheric, evocative historical ghost story that merges past and present, dream and reality. Amelia gives an outstanding lead performance, and is a joy to watch throughout.
I really enjoyed editing this film and compiling the soundtrack from the excellent music of composer Kevin Macleod. It's a unique little spanking story in honour of All Souls that combines period drama, suspense and horror sequences and intense caning action.
I hope the end result is appropriately shivery and horrible, but of course the reality of shooting it was tremendous fun. Amelia is always a delight to work with and it was lovely seeing how well she and Hywel work together. You can get a glimpse into the filming process through our behind the scenes video, which shows not only the usual making of, outtakes and silliness between shots, but also a very special out of character caning to refresh Amelia's marks for the final scene. 22 strokes of the 12mm dragon cane administered by Hywel, her real life partner whom she married this summer. It's a candid, intimate little caning sequence that provides a lovely real life counterpoint to the darkness of our latest CP fantasy.
I have long been fascinated with the idea of being beaten with the flat of a sword. When I realised I was shooting with two fencers, one of whom was experienced in professional fight choreography, the opportunity was too good to pass up. Sword-fighting and spanking go brilliantly together in my opinion (Drama! Action! Adventure! Swishy arm motions! Victory through physical dominance!) and I couldn't resist the chance to take advantage of Amelia Rutherford's expertise to include a wee duel in a spanking video.
In my fantasies, this sort of thing usually takes place in a historical or piratical sort of setting, so that would have been my first preference. But the swords we had access to were fencing foils and bokken, and we didn't have enough budget for full historical costume, so Tom came up with the idea of doing a comic book style superhero story instead. The Avenger's Return was born!
This 15-minute scene offers a window into a universe where superheroes are real and their training includes both martial arts and spanking. I play a naive and rather vain trainee who is being mentored by a combat-experienced superhero called the Highwayman. I'm more focussed on my shiny latex costume and complaining that I can't fly yet than my training, which earns me a series of punishments. First a hand spanking, delivered by the Highwayman while standing with me dangling over his knee, and then 8 firm strokes with the riding crop, all over my tight latex ballgown. (Latex doesn't lessen the pain of a spanking, but it alters it. It's a very interesting sensation; I recommend you try it sometime.)
My lesson is interrupted by the arrival of my nemesis, the Highwayman's infamous former protegée: the Avenger. I've heard all about how talented and brilliant she is but have never met her in person. She and the Highwayman cross swords and sharp words as they struggle for dominance.
I really enjoyed the chance to indulge my enthusiasm for watching beautiful people practice swordplay, and was very impressed by Amelia's fortitude as Tom striped her bottom with his steel fencing foil. A real sword is a heavy thing to hit someone with.

The marks were actually rather dramatic, red stripes visible even through her shiny black leggings. I wish we'd taken a photo of them, as they don't show up as well on video as they did in the flesh.
I'm very grateful to Amelia Jane Rutherford for her generous help choreographing the sword fight behind the scenes, as well as her outstanding performance as the Avenger; and to her fiancé Hywel Phillips for his work as cameraman, lighting tech and director. Their assistance was invaluable, and this scene couldn't have happened without them.
We had a lot of fun making it, as you can tell from the behind the scenes video. I hope it will appeal to anyone who likes comic books, sci-fi and fantasy, action and adventure, light-hearted spoofs and shiny latex outfits.
Officer Julia Danby is researching Psychic Weapon 'C', dubbed 'the Cuckoo', a dangerous telepath involved with one of the criminal factions she is investigating. She doesn't yet know how his powers work: specifically, that his ability to violate people's minds and rip information out of an unwilling victim depends on them being in pain. However, she's about to experience this phenomenon first hand.
Tom gives an outstanding performance as the Cuckoo, and I had great fun with Officer Danby's strong, stoic character who fights fear with laughter and holds out at long as she can. It was also lovely to be able to work with two other actors to create a more dynamic, complex scene. This is Ludwig's first appearance on the site, and I think it might also be his first time co-topping with his mate and co-blogger Kaelah in a spanking video.
Kaelah and Ludwig have written a behind-the-scenes report about the shoot. Here's what they have to say about playing a pair of ruthless criminal goons (Ludwig's comments are in bold):
If you are a geek like me, with a love for science fiction / mystery series, you probably already noticed that the scene is inspired by Fringe. I don't usually pay attention to what is on TV, but Fringe is one of the very few TV series I have ever followed. Actually, I had just recently discovered it when Pandora, Kaelah and I were exchanging brainstorming emails about what to do at our upcoming shoot together. So it was kind of funny when Pandora brought up the idea of doing a Fringe-themed clip. Do I know the series, she asked? Absolutely, and I was all excited about the prospect. Kaelah did not know Fringe, but she liked the idea of playing a goon-type character, and she had other, no less fitting associations in mind...
When Pandora told us about the storyline, the first thing that came to my mind were some pictures inspired by Men in Black. Three dark figures, appearing from nowhere, doing their job swiftly and without any mercy, before finally disappearing into the shadows as quickly as they had turned up. The only possible problem which I told Ludwig the evening before the shoot was: "Don't you think it's a bit weird that the two of us as Germans are supposed to play cruel goons who assault a British investigator?" - "We are not Germans, we are just some goons", Ludwig answered, "and this is not an idea to make fun of."
The next day, Tom came up with a suggestion: "How about you two guys speaking German? Different languages make the scene more interesting and edgy, because this way Pandora's character won't be able to understand what her captors are talking about." I laid back and waited for Ludwig to reply. And he did: "Great idea! It also looks much more like a big international conspiracy then." As you can imagine, I was mildly irritated by this reply, okay, actually I was completely stunned. Ludwig grinned and told me that he found the idea much better now, since it had been Tom's suggestion this time. With a boyfriend like that you really don't need any enemies. Joking aside, actually I think that Ludwig was really attracted by this international thing, especially because Tom as our leader was supposed to be a native speaker of English who nonetheless instructed his goons in German.
When Tom came up with his suggestion, I liked the idea that the three of us - Tom, Kaelah and me - would be communicating in German. Not only would it add to the confusion for Pandora's character, it also instantly, and in a simple yet effective way, created the notion of a menacing, international conspiracy. Here is Pandora's character, getting assaulted by three figures. The leader is obviously an Englishman, but he has two German henchmen with him. In the context of a Fringe-inspired scene, I find that a lot more interesting than three assailants with the same background.
We did some rehearsals of the scene beforehand, so that everyone would know where to stand and what to do during the actual shoot. Pandora, who had just directed my severe caning which we had filmed earlier that day, found out that it was really challenging to switch from director mode into bottom mode, especially given the edginess of the scene. She asked for a short break after a little misunderstanding between Ludwig and her, in order to get into the right mindset for the scene. When we continued, we decided that it was better to do the scene a bit less rough than we had initially planned to make sure that Pandora had a chance to get into the scene step by step. Since this was the first time for me to top anyone else than Ludwig, I probably was a bit over-cautious from that point on. I definitely didn't want to give Pandora any negative experience, so I was always a bit hesitant and only shifted up a gear when I felt that Pandora was ready for it.
Before we started, Pandora told me that she wanted the initial struggle with Kaelah and me to be "really physical". What I missed, however, was her request to merely simulate the struggle while we were practicing the scene ahead of the filming. Among all the other stuff we were talking about, that detail escaped my attention. So, during the practice run, I already handled Pandora in a rather physical way, at a time when she was not expecting it yet. I felt sorry for the misunderstanding and apologised to Pandora, but she said no hard feelings, these things can happen. The downside of it all was that, once we got around to actually filming the scene, Kaelah and I were probably a bit over-cautious. It is difficult to find exactly the right spot between being too brutal and too fake in a physical struggle, especially when playing / filming with someone for only the second or third time.
My headspace during the filming itself was ambiguous as well, in a very fascinating way. One part of me was focussed on getting everything right for the camera and making sure that Pandora was safe and feeling okay. The other part, though, very much enjoyed the freedom of being someone who obeyed orders without scruple, not bothered with any hindering emotions. I was just doing my job, swiftly and efficiently. Hey, I didn't even have a name! When we had discussed about the languages, I had already realised that I didn't have much intention to talk at all. And that's exactly how it was during the scene. The mindset of silently following orders proved to be a very peaceful one. Maybe because it was so different from my normal being (and definitely something I wouldn't want to do for real). But knowing that in reality this was Pandora's fantasy and that there was another part of me which constantly watched for her well-being, experimenting with silence and lack of emotion was indeed a very fascinating and strangely liberating experience.
I'd actually forgotten about my difficulty during the rehearsal of the opening sequence. I'd spent the morning directing and shooting a big two person scene with Kaelah and Ludwig, and this was my first scene bottoming that day. Tom was directing this scene, but I'd written the shooting script and was so closely engaged with the logistics that I was still very much in a directing headspace. During the run-through, I hadn't quite psyched myself up yet for a proper struggle and it made me spin a bit.
After that, and knowing how difficult I've found it to take CP on previous shoots where I was directing and bottoming at the same time, I wasn't quite sure how I'd react when the spanking started. We agreed to start over clothes to take the edge off - it made sense within the scene, which has no sexual overtone. In the event, by the time we got that far I was so thoroughly in character that I was able to take it without any trouble. Playing someone who is angry and determined not to show weakness always raises my pain threshold. In fact, once we got there I could have taken significantly more, but Tom and I were so focused in the interaction between our characters that neither of us gave Kaelah and Ludwig the explicit reassurance they needed to go as hard and fast as we could have.
Don't get me wrong, it was still pretty hard - Kaelah found her rhythm with the paddle and the big black cane is so heavy it doesn't need much to make an impact. To be honest, for me, the hotness of this scene comes from the psychological interaction anyway; the CP is necessary set-dressing, but not the main focus.
Here's what Tom has to say about this scene:
'Psychic Weapon C' was a very interesting scenario to shoot, because while I was definitely the top in the scene, I was not the punisher ("I have people who do that for me.") This was both a simplifying and a complicating factor, as it freed me up to concentrate on the character portrayal while also placing me at one remove from the control of power and pace that I am used to in the actual punishments.
It was quite useful to be able to streamline my attention; the character portrayal fell entirely outside the relatively simple authority figures I am called upon to deliver in most spanking scenarios. Developing, in fifteen minutes of screen time, a character who is clearly a villain, but is not a simple bad guy, and portraying a telepath without access to any post-production enhancements was enjoyably difficult. In constructing the Cuckoo I drew on several sources, both literary and cinematic, including a particularly strong performance from Quentin Tarantino in the mid-season double episode of Alias Season 1.
The key to what I wanted from the Cuckoo was the menace of the professional interrogator textured by the implication of inner demons; that he has channeled a truly overwhelming and terrifying talent into a strictly controlled form. He is, in the simplest sense, a mind-rapist, but as a person (rather than as an operative) he is cultured, courteous, and clings on tightly to his self-image as a professional even when faced with his own addiction to the pain of others.
The sense of rising menace comes across well in the final cut, enhanced by Pandora's excellent complementary performance as Officer Danby. It was thoroughly enjoyable to be able to over-master a character who was fighting every step of the way, rather than ultimately submitting a legitimate authority. It was also interesting to direct and control the punishment sequences with hand-gestures and German dialogue learned on the spot; adding the dimension of communications between the antagonists being in a language foreign to the protagonist was a challenging but rewarding technique.
The end result is emotionally intense and unusually dark, with the courageous victim ultimately losing to a dominating force who is clearly evil, but ambiguously sympathetic.
I'd never really conceived of telepathic ravishment before, but it turns out I love it. Drama, conflict, tension, psychological violence - perfect! I also really really love being caned while angry - that is, while playing a character who is angry. I maintained an angry, resisting emotional state throughout my hard prison caning with Pain4Fem, and although it didn't make it hurt any less it proved a great defence against panic. There's something exhilirating about being beaten in a state of righteous fury: almost as if every impact fuels your inner strength. And being pinned down and having my wrists bound with a ziplock tie works for me just fine.
