Two young lovers find themselves caught in flagrante delicto by a master magician - and he isn't impressed. After thrashing his apprentice for failing to rein in his passions, Master Finlay informs Sophie that she has untrained magical ability, and must learn to control it or she will put herself and others in danger. He offers to take her on as his second apprentice. Sophie can't believe her good fortune - her old life was not worth clinging to, and she accepts the opportunity gladly, even though it means undergoing to a painful initiation ceremony.
I've always loved the idea of sacred or ceremonial kink; the use of blindfolds, restraints, whipping and flogging in magical ritual. There's something deliciously objectifying about being a ritual object or a sacrifice to the gods, body mortified to raise power for a higher cause.
On the other hand, blindfolds and flogging can play a part in an initiation ceremony or a rite of passage, where the focus of attention is very much on the celebrant - as with the ritual conducted to mark Sophie's initiation into the path of magical learning. Either way, this is about using pain and sensory deprivation to achieve an altered state of consciousness.
Now that she is officially subject to the magician's authority, Sophie must learn to control her passions and her powers. To teach her this lesson Master Finlay straps her bottom soundly with a razor strop of worn, thick leather.
But even the pain of Sophie's punishment - or the chores she is set afterwards - do not diminish her joy at finally finding a place where she belongs.
We're very honoured to be able to share Irelynn Logeen's last ever spanking film with you (probably), which she came out of retirement to shoot with us as a one-off a few months ago. She and Adele looked perfect in their matching tunics and blazers, but neither girl was perfectly innocent in this end-of-term school caning film. In the end they both lifted their skirts, lowered their white school knickers and bent over the gym horse for 12 hard strokes of the cane.
It's the last day of summer term, and the end of Irelynn and Adele's school career. After their last assembly, their head of year calls them back for one last interview. It seems that someone spiked the punch at the Leaver's Ball, and these two are the likely suspects. But which of them was it?
For their classmates, the summer holiday has already started, but rather than hugging their friends goodbye, Irelynn and Adele will spend their last moments at the school in an all-too-familiar position: bent over the gym horse for a final farewell caning.
Merry Yule! This weekend contains the longest night, the shortest day of the year. It might be hard to believe at this time of year, especially in grey rainy London, but after today the light starts to come back. Meanwhile, I recommend snuggling up indoors in the warm, perhaps with a willing partner, and watching some spanking videos to warm the blood. I hear that bottoms and hands can also be warmed by related means ;)
I'm doing much the same with Tom this weekend, although this being me, I'm squeezing in a bit of work around the edges too. Somehow the couple of weeks before Christmas always seem explosively busy, not only trying to get work wrapped up before the holidays, but with presents, Christmas feasts and family visits to organise too. Still, I love this time of year, and I'm looking forward to the festivities. I just wish I had an extra week first to get everything done in time!
Just to add to the excitement, on Thursday we held our last shoot of 2013, with Adele Haze and new photographer PWP. I've worked with PWP before in various contexts; we got talking and I learned that he loves spanking, but has never shot spanking photos before. As you can tell from his tumblr, he has no shortage of experience shooting bottoms! We discussed various ideas, including the artistic possibilities of combining spanking with glitter and bodypaint.

Meanwhile, a couple of tweets from Adele caught my eye in which she said she was craving a shoot with lace, ribbon, silk, and everything frilly and fancy. I decided to bring the two together and spend an afternoon shooting arty, colourful spanking photos with a difference. The glitter spanking experiment was excellent fun (I don't know about Adele, but I'm still finding glitter in unexpected places), and we both dolled up in ivory lacy dresses with ribbons on our lingerie and in our hair for a sensual F/F switch storyline.
My personal favourite, however, was the third photoset of the afternoon. Two topless girls in long skirts, velvet, mood lighting. Old books and ink, hand-lettered typography, words on skin. Adele and I have this kink in common. I copied out the first six lines of the Iliad onto her back in the original Homeric Greek, and it was the most peaceful, zen experience I have ever had on a spanking shoot. As the minutes ticked by, no-one spoke a word, PWP moved around us quietly snapping photos, I think she and I both entered a kind of subspace. There was an element of psychological bondage to it; she had to stay perfectly still, or the work would be ruined. And I entered a trance-like state as I lost all my awareness of the camera, and focussed on finishing the calligraphy as quickly and neatly as possible.
I don't know what story these images might tell. Perhaps we are lovers, or witches; perhaps I'm an artist decorating her for some sort of show, or perhaps she's my submissive and I've set her the challenge of stillness and obedience. Perhaps we are students in some strange alternate universe where punishment lines are written not on paper, but on skin.
If you're impatient to see the results, so am I - I'll post some previews as soon as PWP has sent me the files. Meanwhile, perhaps my next bit of news will tide you over. Our new F/F schoolgirl caning film Leaving Day has just gone live. I'd thrilled to welcome Irelynn to the site. We filmed this video back in the summer, at the end of a day spent doing work for a private client. Irelynn had already officially retired from shooting video, but when I asked if she'd be interested in fitting in a Dreams of Spanking clip if we had time, she said yes. Sadly this was the only one we had time for, but it's possible she might be interested in coming back for more. So this might be the last spanking film Irelynn ever does - but then again, it might not. Either way, I hope you like it.
I first heard about the story called The Magician's Apprentice when Adele asked me how to create some arcane techno-babble which actually meant something for a new fiction piece she was working on. I have a few useful books on the subject, and was able to provide some names and references. At what point Pandora adopted the story for Dreams of Spanking I'm not entirely sure, but I've been looking forward to the publication of this one for quite some time.
Adele is an excellent writer, and the scenario she created gave us, as actors, plenty to work with. Our day with Daniel R had already included The Captain and the Tavern Wench, so we were well in the mood for high-camp costume drama. We were also looking forward to experimenting with stills to create some visual effects that would have been much more difficult on video. And as an added bonus, I got to play Mr. Sheridan, Court Magician to the Empire:
Apparently the Empire ran to large beards that season.
Setting up for this one was almost as much fun as actually shooting it. Quite a lot of the paraphernalia we dressed the set with is either mine or Pandora's, and digging out the Fifth Pentacle of Mercury from The Key of Solomon always provides a good laugh on a wet winter evening. The actual chalk-work was mostly done by Jimmy, who's a fine artist (which I am not) and can write in Arabic (which I can't). We had a whale of a time putting candles everywhere and drawing obscure rude (or geeky) jokes onto the chalkboards in the background.
It's extraordinary how going the extra mile in the set detail affected the atmosphere; what you might call the Weta Workshops effect. The room felt different. Dressing the set created a good deal of tension in itself, and I found it very easy to get into role, even without dialogue, when acting against those elaborate props and backdrop.
I'll try not to spoil too much of Adele's story, but suffice it to say that after the kissing shots, we halted for a protracted faff with candles, to the accompaniment of much giggling. And then, as if by magic...
... a hand-crafted special effect leads to the young couple's discovery by Mr. Sheridan.
The richness of both colour and texture in the "enlightening" shot really has turned out as well as we'd hoped; I'm impressed by how well Daniel caught the moment.
As well as being a pleasure to work with on a personal level, Daniel kept pace with our rather eclectic imaginations all through the shoot, and always seemed to be able to tune in to what we were looking for. The half gothic, half steam-punk feel of this photostory beautifully matches the texture of Adele's prose.
If memory serves, this was also the first scene ever in which Jimmy and I interacted directly, in a CP sense. Balancing a new scene dynamic with character acting can be difficult, particularly if you are already as well acquainted as Jimmy and me. But on this occasion, it presented no problems at all. The story had a pace and rhythm to it that made staying in role easy, despite the stop-motion logistics of shooting stills, and the CP itself did not seem at all strange within the compelling motivations of the narrative.
Also, it was just so pretty...
An enormous amount of fun was had, and you've only seen the half of it: the plot thickens for young Sophie soon enough once Giles has faced the Magician's wrath. I'm really pleased with the final results: luxuriant colours and cabbalistic symbols enough to brighten anyone's day. Watch this space for part two.
There have been some changes to Dreams of Spanking over the last month. You may have noticed them, you may not. I haven't been able to write about it here for reasons that will become obvious, but now things are more or less resolved, I can briefly describe what's happened.
It started with a site review by our credit card processor CCBill, requesting some minor (if baffling) wording changes, mostly to blogposts and scene pages. CCBill's Acceptable Usage Policy has vague wording describing the sort of content they are happy to process billing for, and we went through a similar review process with them when preparing the site for launch. The interpretation of their policy seems to subjectively depend on which employee is handling your case; and so some things they had required before launch weren't required now, whereas other things that had been missed then were now flagged for removal.
For technical reasons, the review also required us to set up a new subaccount with them, a process which triggered yet another review, from yet another policy advisor, and this is where things got interesting. The short version is that a lot of content which hadn't been picked up on a week earlier was now flagged for deletion. They specifically picked out three scenes featuring sword-fighting or severe caning. These films were fine a week ago, but now, suddenly, they had to go.
I didn't really have a choice about complying with CCBill's demands. I can't run this site without a billing provider, and other producers informed me that a lot of these regulations are handed down from Visa and other financial institutions, and that all credit card processors have similarly inconsistent requirements. As one producer said, "the policies of such organizations are capricious, arbitrary, defy logic and present an unpredictable moving target". Most billing agents deliberately word their policies to be vague, to give them scope for flexibility. This vagueness means no producer can guarantee they’ll be safe with one billing agent or another. Besides which, changing credit card processor is a lengthy, complex, expensive process which I simply couldn't afford.
I make spanking videos for the love of it, and in hope of reaching out to others who share my fantasies. I hope that my films might turn you on, fire your imagination, or perhaps help you discover that you are not alone, and that spanking fantasies can be a healthy part of a vibrant sexuality. I firmly believe that it is not harmful for consenting adults to act out these sorts of fantasies, or to share the resulting images with likeminded kinksters.
The key is consent. If all participants consented and had fun making it, there is nothing wrong with enjoying any kind of porn, however weird or extreme.
I therefore decided that the best possible response to CCBill's removal requests was to give away the deleted scenes for free. As I wrote at the time:
So these requirements are handed down to CCBill from Visa; all other billing agents are the same? Fuck capitalism: I’ll give it all away. Full length video downloads, image galleries, behind the scenes documentaries, associated writings, everything. Plus the comments, the blog posts, the performer bios, all the surrounding context that demonstrates the ethical production and enthusiastic content that went into the making of those scenes, because without that, it’s not representative of what I’m doing.
Free range porn, released into the wild! It’s an exhilarating, liberating prospect. Free economics: the last line of defence against the capitalist censors. If I’m not charging, there’s not a damn thing they can do about it.
When I was in the middle of dealing with this issue the urge to rebel against CCBill was a strong one, but that wasn't my only reason for deciding to make the deleted content available for free. The more I thought about it, the better an idea it seemed.
One of the films flagged for removal was Ludwig and Kaelah's film The Final Test. They wrote the film themselves as a positive representation of their severe caning kink, which is often considered controversial. They were tired of arguing their corner against people who insisted anyone who liked that sort of thing was “sick”, and decided to make a film complete with a behind the scenes documentary to show how it can be conducted in a healthy, consensual, and empowering way. Both of them refused to allow me to pay them for the shoot: they insisted that they were doing this for love, not money. As soon as The Final Test was singled out for removal, giving this film away seemed like the best way to honour the spirit in which it was created
Additionally, I come to production from the open source community, and have long been fascinated by free economics and the future of commercial media distribution in the age of file-sharing. I’m interested in exploring alternative business models that exploit the economics of abundance offered by digital media – for instance, I have a “pay what you like” porn site in the pipeline. This seemed like a good opportunity to road-test one possible alternative business model (giving content away and inviting donations from those who enjoy it) in a relatively risk-free way. After all, the content had already earned its keep on Dreams of Spanking; I could make the experiment without having to invest more money producing brand-new content.
A separate mini-site was also the most achievable solution. A free site is easier, quicker and cheaper to build than a separate site using a new billing agent; or than changing the billing agent for Dreams of Spanking. This option allowed me to make the content available as quickly as possible after I was required to take it offline.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, if content is deemed dangerous or offensive by anyone, controlling corporations or governments alike, the best way to prove that it isn’t is to make it publically available.
Many commenters have remarked on how tame the scenes CCBill objected to are compared to porn you can find elsewhere on the web. Our silly sword-fighting scenes, for instance, all use fake weapons, such as rubber toy swords or capped fencil foils - and yet CCBill still found the "threat to life" implied by these duelling scenes too "realistic" to be allowed.
Fear and myths still abound about kinky people and practices, and fear is fuelled by ignorance. Most campaigners against "violent porn" (and there is a campaign against simulated rape pornography raging as I write this) have sat down and watched very little of it. Openness and transparency are our best defence against censorship and fear.
Hence, Darker Dreams.

Our latest scene was filmed at the Texas All State Spanking Party with my friend Alex Reynolds. I've been an avid reader of her blog Alex in Spankingland for some time, and was very happy that she agreed to shoot a couple of scenes with me. Alex is smart, funny, adorable, and has an amazing sense of adventure and fun about this thing we do.
Missed Alarm was the second scene we shot together, and belongs to the oh-so-common "scenes you can plausibly shoot in hotel rooms" genre. (I will be shooting more scenes like this at the Spain party next month - let me know if you have any ideas for plot lines!)
We decided to film a true to life story about Pandora and Alex at a spanking party, sharing a room in the hotel. The story we came up with goes like this: Pandora was jetlagged and decided to take a nap, and asked Alex to wake her up before the evening's festivities. Alex decided to let her sleep instead, and as a result Pandora missed the pool party and a whole load of spanking! When she wakes up the next morning and discovers she's missed the fun, she takes her frustration out on Alex's bottom.
Alex is awesome, and I can highly recommend her blog if you haven't seen it already. I loved working with her, and can't wait to do so again next time we're on the same continent.
It's been a busy fortnight, and this month is about to get a hell of a lot busier. Last week Tom and I went camping together, with perfect timing for the glorious few days of golden sunshine which warmed the south of England. Jacq joined us for the final weekend, and we came home tanned, toned, tired and full of love. Tom and I in particular really benefited from the time together; it's been hard this year since we had to move to different cities, and I feel like our relationship has been healed and renewed. It was a brilliant and very needed holiday that left us feeling refreshed, recharged, relaxed and reconnected. Plus we had the hottest sex after we got home; things haven't been that energised in the bedroom for a long time.
Since then, I've had my work cut out catching up with emails, video editing, client work and some exciting new professional projects - about which more in due course. While I've been too busy to blog about what's new on the site, there have been some cool updates over the last couple of weeks. Before I went away I released one of the most intense films I think I've ever made, a historical fantasy filmed during our amazing location shoot in March. It's called The Whipping Boy, and it goes a bit like this:
The Whipping Boy
Governess Miss Montana is at her wit's end. First her charge fraternises with a servant boy, and now the young lady is going behind her lord father's back on matters of politics.
Not wanting to make a martyr out of the girl, Miss Montana summons both Adele and her sweetheart Jimmy, the serving boy she grew up with. Adele always had a soft heart, and as children, the best way to punish the young lady was often to whip her friend the serving boy. Now, Miss Montana decides it's time to reinstate the arrangement.
To save his love from disgrace, Jimmy willingly offers himself in her place. But this will be the hardest thrashing he has ever had to take for her - and the worst of their punishment is yet to come.
The brainchild of real life couple Jimmy and Adele, this historical fantasy explores themes of class inequality, nobility, personal honour and self-sacrifice. The spanking and caning are hard, but the emotions of the young lovers' plight is the most intense aspect of this scene. Their devotion to one another is plain to see as they cling to each other, offering comfort as real tears stream down Jimmy's face. A deeply personal scenario from two of our most gifted performers.

Our new video The New Head Girl is a school spanking story, and it's a bit of an odd one.
First, some facts: this is the last scene from our two day shoot with Caroline last year. It's the first scene we ever filmed in which I wasn't performing in at all, freeing me up to be behind the camera: the inept handheld camera work is all mine. (This was my first try - all part of the learning curve.) And I think it was the first switch scene we shot too, in the sense of a scenario in which the same character both tops and bottoms; in this case, the new Head Girl.
When I wrote this scene, I was most interested in the tension between the shy new Head Girl and the bolshy, cynical school rebel. Adele and Caroline played that out to perfection; but watching the scene unfold also revealed some aspects I hadn't anticipated.
It's long, for one thing: 26 minutes. An implement tour always takes a while, doubly so with both Adele and the Housemaster, played by Thomas, both using each of hairbrush, ruler, tawse and cane on the hapless Caroline. (A comparable scene is A Taste of their Own Medicine, in which Head Girl Zoe gives two prefects a tour of all the implements they've mis-used during their disciplinary reign of terror.)
The extended nature of the scene contributes to the biggest thing I didn't really anticipate: how dark it is. Caroline's remark, "This is detention, not The Beating Hour!" is bang on. She is whacked to an extent that's actually a bit surreal. It's hot, I think, but if you need your school stories to be uber-believable this might go too far.
Then there's the question of fairness. I wasn't sure whether to tag this scene as 'fair' or 'unfair', so I went for both. The premise that Caroline is the naughtiest girl in the school and deserves everything she gets initially feels a little stretched. She's witty and sympathetic, and the punishment quickly feels excessive. But you don't actually find out what she's done until late in the scene. What starts out seeming like a horribly unfair ordeal perhaps, by the end, makes a little more sense.
Adele, too, plays a sympathetic character: the Head Girl who can't bring herself to exert discipline. Administering punishment to Caroline is almost a punishment for Adele in itself - she's not having any fun, and Caroline's jibes only make her feel worse. It therefore seems doubly cruel that when Adele is deemed not to be applying herself, she has to endure the same treatment.
There's definitely a moral ambiguity here. The Housemaster's claim that the Head Girl needs the strength of mind to do her duty sounds plausible, but does she really need to be punished in front of Caroline? By the end, Adele may have learned some physical skills at Caroline's expense, but it's not clear that she's any better mentally equipped to exert authority. I think that hint that the whole exercise may have been in vain is one of the most sinister aspects of this scene.
But mixed in with all of that is the fact that thanks to the wit of all three performers, this video is funny - far funnier than I'd expected. Caroline's jaded comebacks are laugh-out-loud witty; her bored expressions while being beaten are priceless. The hostility between the goody-two-shoes Head Girl and the naughtiest girl in the school is beautifully played out, from trading snide remarks to making faces at each other behind the Housemaster's back. A lot of the humour is dark ("What are you going to do - hit me?") but it still lightens the mood. There's levity, too, when the Housemaster and Caroline start trading reminiscences about her more outrageous misdemeanours, and you realise that he's not entirely unsympathetic to her cause, after all.
Whether you read this scenario as dark, light or something inbetween, it offers a fascinating interplay between three of my best actors. Combining M/F and F/F, it's chock-full of spankings from a range of implements, mild to severe. There are some brilliantly funny bits, but I'm hoping it's edgy enough to appeal to the hard punishment fans. Anyway, let me know what you think.

The UK has a lot of coastline, and large parts of it has a rich history of smuggling, particularly the south coast. I find it a compelling premise for corporal punishment fantasy for a whole host of reasons, from the romance and danger to the creative rebellion of the smugglers, and the pleasing anti-establishment flavour of the idea of whole towns conspiring against the excise to improve their quality of life.
There's infinite potential in this theme, and reading historical accounts of smuggling generates huge amounts of inspiration for judicial scenarios. I'd love to explore smuggling in older periods of English history, but with the venue and costume we had available the 50s was what seemed achievable this time.
The sailor suit Caroline wears in this scene is her own, and it really is an original uniform worn by a 16 year old boy. The lovely 1920s bar billiards table over which the smugglers are bent for punishment also deserves special mention!
The Smugglers of the Running Fox was filmed on our shoot with Caroline last summer, and included a couple of new things on which I'd interested to hear your feedback:
This scene is the first one the site to employ cross-dressing. This isn't just a female actor playing a male character, but in-character drag; a young woman posing as a boy in order to join the merchant marines.
Many people incorporate cross-dressing into their kink. Dreams of Spanking performers Kaelah and Jimmy have both written about the appeal to them of being punished in a persona of the opposite sex. I know that I'm far from the only woman to fantasise about being spanked as a boy, and I know many couples who incorporate this sort of play into their kink life. I hope you find the image of "Charlie" being severely thrashed in his military uniform as appealing as I do!
One question in my mind is, does this sort of scene count as M/M, or M/F, or both? If a female performer were playing a male character, I would definitely count it as M/M, but with a character pretending to be a boy it's more ambiguous. If you encountered a scene like this while searching for M/M, would you be disappointed or intrigued?
Music during spanking
I respond sexually to music, and I've really enjoyed the chance to stretch my creativity by adding musical soundtracks to Dreams of Spanking films. I know that not everyone enjoys music, and early after launch I received an email from one person who had a strong antipathy to music in spanking video. So far, as a compromise, I've been careful not to include music over the spanking itself. It's used during opening and closing credits, establishing shots, erotic sequences and over dialogue to build tension, but The Smugglers of the Running Fox is the first film to include music over some actual beating.

Finally, without wanting to give any spoilers, the ending of this film does something which I've been intending to do since the start of this project.
